Gerald’s excitement as he dreamed of his surprise proposal to Rachel was palpable.
From his very first email, up until the nervous texts he sent me right before the proposal, all the way until the sun set on their engagement shoot, Gee’s thoughtfulness & love for Rachel was a sight for sore eyes.
From the get-go, Gee’s priority was all about creating an unforgettable experience for Rachel. After 8 years together, he wanted his proposal to honour the many adventures they’ve experienced together, as well as the many they’re set to go on as husband and wife.
Ultimately, he wanted to take her breath away — the same way she does for him every single day.
So with a cross-country campervan trip to Australia on the cards, Gee found the perfect “excuse” to organise the adventure of a lifetime.
Having shared with me that he hoped to get down on one knee “surrounded by nature”, “somewhere special & private” with “epic views”, I knew that the Blue Mountains would be the PERFECT spot for them. In fact, I had a very special (secret) spot up my sleeve for this very moment!
Planning a secret proposal from afar is not for the faint of heart, but Gee trust in the process and in me. With specific instructions laid out, a date & time picked out, as well as secret codes in place, we were all set for him to propose to his love. All we needed now was for the pieces to fall into place.
So, on the first day of winter, when many run indoors seeking warmth & shelter, Gee declared his love for Rachel surrounded by landscapes that have stood the test of time over centuries.
Not only can I confirm that he succeeded in taking her breath away (as well as taking her completely by surprise!) — their love bubble post-proposal was filled with so much warmth that even I (a RENOWNED intolerant of the cold) forgot that it was winter.
Gee — thank you from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me into your lives to witness & immortalise this very special memory for both you & Rachel to treasure forever. This memory will live rent free in my heart for years to come.
